Want to learn to make your own hard cider at home? We're offering a workshop to teach you all the basics and to send you home with what you need to start your first batch! Details below...
When: Tuesday, October 17th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm
Where: Bloom Bake Shop Madison – 1851 Monroe St. Madison, WI 53711
Cider was once a mainstay of the American farmstead, and in this workshop you can rediscover the lost craft of cider making.
You will learn which apples make the best cider, how to grind and press apples, how to ferment your cider for best results, and how to bottle and cap your cider at home. You’ll have the opportunity to taste apple varieties and fresh pressed juice, and we’ll sample some finished hard cider. You will go home with a gallon of your own fresh juice and the supplies you need to get your first fermentation started.
The workshop will be taught be Marie and Matt Raboin, owners of Brix Cider. Marie and Matt have been making cider together for over 8 years, and they have won awards in international cider competitions for both amateur and commercial ciders.
